porsche 911 carrera rsr 2.8

Based on the 911 Carrera RS homologation model, the RSR, developed in 1972, is a thoroughbred Group 4 racing car. Wider wings and an oil cooler provide a visual clue as to the power of the 911 Carrera RSR, of which 55 units  are constructed. Situated at the rear is a 2.8 litre six-cylinder flat engine, the output of which is increased to 300 hp using dual ignition and larger valves and channles. In 1973, Porsche earns a historic overall victory with the 911 Carrera RSR at the last Targa Florio to be part of the Worlds Sportscar Championship.
